August is an minor character in the seventh season. He is portrayed by Leo Howard and debuts in "Anaconda".
He is a member of an environmentalist group, known as Tree Crew, which was the predecessor of the Grounder clan Trikru. He was friends with Callie Cadogan.
Early life
Little is known about August, other than that he was a member of the environmental activist group Tree Crew, and that he had a girlfriend named Janie. At some point, he and his parents enlisted in the Second Dawn cult, and secured spots in the Second Dawn Bunker for the upcoming apocalypse.
Throughout the Series
In a flashback to 2052 in Anaconda, he is first seen right when the Second Dawn members are entering the bunker. He gets upset when he finds out that his Level 11 girlfriend, Janie cannot enter the bunker. He ends up causing a scuffle, despite his parents trying to calm him. Reese Cadogan dispatches Tristan and a few other Disciple Guards to take care of August. A little bit later he is the decompression room of the bunker when Callie Cadogan enters. They converse about the injustices of her father and he sees the bruising on her arms from the police brutality against Tree Crew. August raises his shirt and shows Callie his massive bruise on his abdomen. He shows her his Tree Crew tattoo and they become friends.
Over the course of two years, it's confirmed that he and Callie are still friends. During a conversation with Becca Franko discussing the altered blood treatments, Callie tells the scientist, "My friend August came up with it" (the name Nightblood).
He and many others leave the bunker with after taking the blood treatments to live on the surface and he questions Callie about the fire she started drawing attention and she tells she's counting on it. He nods.
Personality
August was a loyal person, willing to get severely injured in the name of Tree Crew's mission. When he found out that his girlfriend Janie wasn't allowed to be in the Bunker, he tried to stay outside of it to die with her. When that didn't work, he attempted to bring her with inside, especially since there was extra room.
Physical Appearance
August had brown eyes, short brown hair on the side, and longer hair on the head that was slicked back and a short stubble beard.

Not much is known about Janie except her relationship with August. August loved Janie so much that he was willing to die for her, which was proven when she was not allowed into the Second Dawn Bunker simply for being a level 11 member.
